Developing computer brain interface

Use simulants to test brain insertions

Animal experiments are confirmatory and not exploratory

Animal experiments are to some degree voluntary. Pig must voluntarily enter a specific area. Monkey will voluntarily play with the computer to get puffs of air.

The operations are intended to be reversible, and some animals have been given multiple generations of implants.

Implants are sealed and charged via induction.

Problems of signal decoding to determine the intent of the animal in problems.

Problems include tracing letters with the mind, moving a cursor, and playing pong.

Human implants are likely to help people with paralysis.

While the goal is to help people, it’s also to develop a system for general use and improve the bandwidth of human computer interactions.
